The supply chains are defined as:

Handling loose green: the logging residues are collected by forwarder as green material and hauled to the roadside landing; the material is chipped green at the roadside with a truck-engined chipper directly to the truck

Handling loose dry: the logging residues are collected by forwarder as green material and hauled to the roadside landing; the material is stored at the roadside and chipped dry at the roadside with a truck-engined chipper directly to the truck.

Terrain chipping: the logging residues are left in the terrain to dry before collected in the field by a terrain-chipper and chipped as dried material. A truck is transporting the chips to the pellet plant.

Bundling: the logging residues are collected by a bundler as green material. Bundles are hauled by forwarder to the roadside landing. The bundles are transported by truck to the plant where the bundles are crushed.

Feller buncher: the material is cut with a feller buncher hand ling multi-trees, the hauling is done with a forwarder to the roadside storage where the material is chipped with a truck-engined chipper directly to the truck

Manual +farm tractor equipment: cutting is done manually by a lumberjack with a chain saw, the hauling is done with a farm tractor and a trailer to the roadside; roadside chipping with a truck-engined chipper directly to the truck

Harwarder: Cutting and hauling is done by harwarder to the roadside; roadside chipping with a truck-engined chipper directly to the truck.

The supply chains are defined as:

Single tree handling:
The material is cut with a single tree harvester head handling single trees, the handled tree is debarked within the harvester head using debarking knives. The hauling is done with a forwarder to the roadside storage where the material is chipped with a truck-engined chipper directly to the truck

Multi tree handling: The material is cut with a feller bunching harvester head handling more than one tree at the time, the handled trees are debarked within the harvester head using debarking knives. The hauling is done with a forwarder to the roadside storage where the material is chipped with a truck-engined chipper directly to the truck
